2009 Winners Announced!

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

We are excited to announce the winners of the 2009 GREEN LOG Home Awards!  This year has seen a dramatic increase in the public’s desire to find green building solutions for their homes.  We are proud that our contest is able to highlight some of the best solutions in the world.  From water conservation to your kitchen countertops, there are hundreds of ways make your home healthier, more efficient and sustainable.

This year we had 14 categories and over 60 nominees.  The judges found many categories filled with worthy candidates. Determining their overall winner was often difficult.  This is a testament to the quality of nominees we had in 2009.  There can be, however, just one winner in each category. View the winners now! See what the judges had to say.

After you have reviewed the Winners, check out the recipients of the 2009 People’s Choice Awards.  These are the results of how you voted.  Did your favorite green building product or service win?

We at the GREEN LOG Awards would like to thank our sponsors, judges, nominees and all of the people who took the time to review our nominees and vote!  Here’s hoping next year is even more successful than 2009!

“The GREEN LOG Home & Lifestyle Awards™ were created in response to the growing demand for green building solutions, products, and information. The goal of the Awards Program is to shine a spotlight on those companies and individuals who, like our tagline proclaims, are “Building a greener world, one home at a time.” It is the collective contributions of individual companies such as the ones we will highlight today that are our greatest hope for the future.”

Jennifer also makes a call to action encouraging the public to vote for their favorite green products, solutions, web sites and blogs.

“Out of the 80+ nominees announced here today, we ask for your votes at polling places around the Web to produce the finalists.”

Jim Young, Chair of Green Log Awards, president of PrecisionCraft Log Homes, and incoming president of the Log Homes Council, also makes an appearance. Jim notes:

“It is my pleasure to be making the connection today between the health of our homes and the health of our communities and our environment. It’s a connection that is exemplified in my life’s work for more than 20 years, because, more than any other type of home, Log Homes are the most natural, organic and environmentally sustainable dwellings in the history of home building.”
