Green Log Awards

Earth Day brought with it an almost 30% spike in daily votes cast!  As we push to break last year’s voting record, we were happy to see that Earth Day sparked more people to vote in the 2009 GREEN LOG Awards.

The GREEN LOG Home & Lifestyle Awards™ were created in response to the growing demand for green products, solutions, and services. The goal of the awards program is to locate and shine a spotlight on those companies and individuals who are enabling healthier homes and lifestyles.

Log homes represent the original green building material and have one of the lowest carbon footprints of any other building material. According to Jim Young, President of PrecisionCraft, “the Log Homes Council and the National Association of Home Builders are very concerned with green building. NAHB has recently published green building guidelines which apply to log homes and other construction options. In addition, the NAHB is providing a seminar to train members of the Log Homes Council at the up coming President’s Tour.”
